AMBER ALERT CANCELLED: Three-year-old Alvin Barnett found Thursday morning in Whitefish, Montana

RCMP confirm that three-year old Alvin Barnett has been located this morning, safe and sound.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said on the RCMP website that Alvin Barnett was located Friday morning in Whitefish, Montana at around 7 a.m. MST., cancelling the Amber Alert.

The break in the abduction case came as a result of a civilian witness seeing the vehicle parked on a side street, local police were alerted. 

Robert Barnett is now in police custody.

An Amber Alert was issued Thursday at 4:30 p.m. after Barnett and his three-year-old son Alvin after the boy was abducted from a Sparwood Hotel during a supervised visit on his birthday Thursday.

Authorities believe that Barnett and his father Robert Barnett crossed the border into Eureka, Montana at around 4:15 p.m. Thursday
 

AMBER ALERT: RCMP believe Robert Barnett has taken son Alvin into United States

RCMP are currently working in conjunction with Law Enforcement authorities in Montana in attempts to locate Robert Barnett and his three-year-old son Alvin after the boy was abducted from a Sparwood Hotel during a supervised visit on his birthday Thursday.

Elk Valley RCMP issued an Amber Alert at 4:30 p.m.

RCMP Const. Dan Moskaluk said Barnett, 39, had “limited and arranged parental right” to Alvin.

The pair are believed to have left town in a blue 2002 Subaru Outback, licence plate number 347 SBL, and travelled south on Highway 93 and into Montana.

Alvin Barnett, 3, is Caucasian, 3-foot-2 and weighs 35 pounds.

According to the Missing Children Society of Canada website, Alvin’s birthday is on Nov. 15.

Robert Barnett, 39, is 5-foot-5 with green eyes, unshaven with reddish blond hair. He has a scar above his right eyebrow.

According to online records, Barnett was charged in January 2000 with driving while his licence was suspended.

If you see Barnett do not approach him. Instead call 911 immediately.

BREAKING NEWS: RCMP issue Amber Alert for three-year-old Elk Valley boy

There has been an amber alert issed in the Elk Valley region of the B.C. Interior by RCMP for a three-year-old boy allegedly abducted by his father.

The alert alleges Robert Barnet, 39, may have entered the United States, possibly Montana, with his son, Alvin, in a 2002 blue Subaru Outback with the licence plate number 347SBL.

Barnet, is a Caucasian man about 1.65 m tall (5’5″) who may be wearing a dark sweater, blue jeans and runners.

The man has green eyes, a scar above his right eyebrow, reddish blonde hair and may be unshaven.

Three-year-old Alvin may be wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone who sees the two should stay away from them and phone 911 immediately.
