A 22-year-old Castlegar man is facing several drug-related charges stemming from an incident on Sept. 15. Jason Osachoff, who received media attention in the summer of 2011 regarding an exploitative online manual called Deflowered in Seconds (see http://castlegarsource.com/news/general/lobby-group-calls-criminal-charges-against-castlegar-men-who-penned-deflowered-seconds-#.UFj8Ya5idMw), will remain in police custody until his next court appearance.

“At (about) 11:50 p.m., a Castlegar RCMP officer was conducting foot patrols in the downtown core  when he noticed a group of people approach a male and hand him something,” said RCMP Sgt. Laurel Mathew. “The officer decided to speak with the group. He learned that the male present was currently on court-ordered conditions not to be at the address where he was, and to have no contact with the individual who resides there. The officer arrested the male and, during a subsequent search of his person, located a substantial quantity of various suspected drugs.”

She said a  quantity of what is believed to be cocaine was located, along with what is suspected to be Ketamine, as well as other unidentified prescription drugs which did not belong to him. Osachoff has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and two counts of Possession of Controlled Substances.

“He is also facing one count of Breaching an Undertaking. He has been remanded in custody and will make his next court appearance on Sept.20.”
