Three suspects in custody after shots fired during a high-speed chase in the Okanagan
Police arrested three people following a high-speed chase through the Okanagan and onto Vernon that included shots being fired at officers.
At 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, members of the West Kelowna RCMP attempted to pull over a suspicious green Dodge minivan.
While following the vehicle before attempting to pull it over, the officer notified dispatch that he was shot at and requested back up.
The suspects fled northbound in the van on Westside Road.
Additional resources were put into place to contain the area.
The suspects, changing vehicles through theft while heading north on Westside, are alleged to have fire more shots at police.
Ultimately, the RCMP members arrested two males and one female in the area of Swan Lake in Vernon an hour after the chase began after the tires on their getaway car were reportedly shot out by police.
The female suspect has been taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
The investigation has now been turned over to New West Police Department.
Police request anyone who witnessed the incidents between West Kelowna and Swan Lake to contact the West Kelowna RCMP.
