Police look for driver in hit-and-run

A man has been taken to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail after being struck by a passing vehicle on Granby Road in Grand Forks last night, Monday, March 19.
Grand Forks RCMP were notified of the accident at 8:45 p.m. The incident happened about one kilometer North on the Granby Road. According to Grand Forks RCMP Staff Sergeant Jim Harrison, the man had been walking alongside the roadway when he was struck by the motorist and thrown about ten meters, resulting in bone fractures. The injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
“It is possible the motorist did not see the man because he’d been wearing dark clothing and was walking alongside an unlit section of the roadway,” said Harrison.
