The final two spots for Red Bull Supernatural are now spoken for with Mark McMorris (CAN) and Sage Kotsenburg (USA) both accepting their wild card invites.

These two future legends coming out of the freestyle world will join 16 other snowboarders who accepted invites to compete at Red Bull Supernatural, February 3rd through 8th at Baldface Lodge outside of Nelson, B.C., Canada.

This first-of-its-kind backcountry snowboard competition, the brainchild of Travis Rice, will challenge, then crown the best all-around snowboarder on the planet.

“Red Bull Supernatural is all the absolute legends and best snowboarders in the world riding something that has never been touched before,” McMorris said.

“It’s going to be exciting to watch and compete in.”

“Getting the call from Travis meant so much to me. Oh man, I’m so looking forward to getting away from the usual contest grind, unplugging and riding pow with my idol Terje along with DCP, Devun Walsh and the best in the game.”

Mark McMorris qualified twice for Red Bull Supernatural, first as the TTR World Tour slopestyle points leader as of January 15th, then by winning X Games gold in slopestyle on January 28th.

The 18-year old McMorris continues to win slopestyle and big air competitions around the globe with a heavy bag of tricks and easy style. The Canadian appeared in “The Art of FLIGHT” landing a 1440 on a massive kicker in the Aspen, CO segment.

Kotsenburg is a dominant force in both slopestyle and big air competition. The Salt Lake City, UT-native won a Red Bull Supernatural wild card nod with his silver medal finish in slopestyle at Winter X Games 2012. Kotsenburg landed the first-ever Cab double cork 1440 at the Billabong Air & Style in Innsbruck, Austria.

The 18-year-old is one of the newest members of the U.S. Snowboarding Slopestyle Pro Team.
