Accused kidnapper Randall Hopley does not ask for bail

December 20th, 2011

Randall Hopley did not ask for bail when he stood up for his hearing Monday in Cranbrook Provincial Court, the CBC reported

Hopley, 46, is facing charges in connection with the disappearance of three-year-old Kienan Hebert.

Hopley is in custody at the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre, and appeared at the brief hearing in Cranbrook by video link. He told the court he could hear and understand the proceedings, and said nothing more.

William Thorne, Hopley’s lawyer, said there was little chance bail would have been granted because his client had already breached bail conditions from an earlier alleged break and enter.
