The Central Kootenay Invasive Plant Committee is hosting an Aquatic Invasive Species Workshop on Friday, Sept. 16 at the MIR Centre, Selkirk College, in Castlegar.
This workshop will include information on aquatic invasive species in our region and at our borders, how to identify, monitor and report them, and how to reduce their spread.
The workshop will include indoor presentations as well as outdoor demonstrations and hands-on activities.
Announced guest speakers include Dr. Matthias Herborg (Ministry of Environment) and Dr. Brian Heise (Thompson Rivers University) who will share their knowledge and expertise during this event.
