Royal Canadian Legion representatives visited the RSS grade 6/7 students last week to deliver good news to Grade 6 student Allie Stanley.

Each year the Legion sponsors a Remembrance Day contest for students from grade one to twelve. Students can enter the literary and poster contest in one of four categories including colour posters, black and white posters, poetry or essays that assist in the legions primary goal od fostering the tradition of Remembrance amongst Canadians.

Allie Stanley placed second at the provincial level for her Remembrance Day poster.  She placed first at  the local level, first at the zone level and first at the regional level.

Following in the path of RSS alumni before her, Stanley joins the likes of previous students to win awards in the contest. Past provincial level winners from RSS have included Sami Flemming, Claire Mckay, Amanda McKay and Sally Turnbull.
