Banish the dark, cold evenings of November and bring a little light and laughter into your life — and you might even win a prize.

Located at 182 Baker Street, The Studio is the city’s newest fitness spot to help you drop your daily cares and do the lovin’ thing for your body and soul.

With a newly renovated location and some of the finest teachers and instructors in town — including Drea Phoenix , Karuna Erickson, Katya Hayes, Heather Hutchinson, Ruth Langevin, and Laurie Madison — The Studio will be hosting an open house on Friday, from 5-7:30 p.m.

The Studio’s instructors will be at the opening to answer any questions you might have about their individual programs and to show you around.

While you are there you can also check out Kutenais Finest Personal Training right up the stairs. Between The Studio and Kutenais Finest you have options for everything from yoga classes to  Kindermusik, personal training to core fusion, and boot camps to  Feldenkrais.

There will be prizes and all the instructors will be offering opportunities to win passes to their classes. Now that could be a gift that would make someone smile at Christmas (hint).

Also, there will be a silent auction with 100 per cent of proceeds going to Bigby Place —a community resource centre for adults and children with developmental disabilities. Bigby Place provides programs and opportunities that enable people to develop skills and gain confidence in order to continue to live independently in their community.

The prizes in the silent auction are broad ranging from yoga and sports gear, to gorgeous jewelry, to an artwork by Avrell Fox.
