Make sure to mark Saturday June 6th on your calendar folks because the 13th annual Rossland Spring Wing Ding is back! Filled with more fun for the whole family and great deals, steals and sales to boot! The great thing about Spring Wing Ding? We have something for everyone!
For the kids we have a sidewalk/ rummage sale of clothing and toys at the Golden Bear Children’s Centre starting at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Meanwhile over at Pioneer Park (located on Spokane Street) take a tour of up and coming Rossland talent with the Children’s Arts Exhibition appropriately titled “Budding Artists” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
And of course what would Spring Wing Ding be without all the fun and exciting kids’ activities at the Jelly Bean Junction – stay tuned for more details. And for the adults what would Spring Wing Ding be without shopping! Again we have our annual
Sidewalk Sale with outstanding deals and treasures to be found in all our retail shops.
For the music enthusiasts out there, there will be free Music in the Square at the Harry Lefevre Square (located next to the Ferraro’s) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Expect a great line up this year! We have a flute quartet and the Mystic Dream Belly dancers set to perform and many more top local performers to look forward to.
A new offering to Spring Wing Ding this year is the Rouge Gallery’s “Paint the Town” initiative where local artists will spend the day on Rossland street corners painting what they see. If their creations pique your interest or you simply fall in love with a painting remember art work will be available for sale at the end of the day so stop by and take a look at the finished product!
Also new to Spring Wing Ding this year is our recreation equipment and plant sale, find everything from bikes to rollerblades and if that doesn’t suit you, you can always buy a plant and get an early start on your gardening! As well there will be free pottery and tennis demonstrations, as well as free swimming at the Rossland community pool from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. – so don’t your forgetting your bathing suit!
Remember to drop by the recreation booth to inquire about summer programs, kid’s camps, and our upcoming family adventure race! Find all the recreation fun on Queen Street between RossVegas and the Rossland Branch of the Nelson and District Credit Union from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
