Rossland Telegraph Set to Launch in Time for Local Elections
Starting Thursday, October 9, 2008, Rossland’s new newspaper will be up and running. It should be quite a start, given that we’re heading into the local election season. It’s not as big a deal as the national elections here at home or in the States, perhaps, but as we all know, Rossland city politics never lack for drama or interest. And that’s putting it mildly.
Very mildly.
The Telegraph will be covering the issues and the candidates closely, posting candidate profiles, and allowing them to create their own blogs. All these forums will be fully interactive, which means Rosslanders will have the opportunity to let their own views be known, engage the candidates personally, and generally further the cause of democracy in the twenty first century.
Many questions arise? Will we give rise to a bear hunting Sarah Palin of our own? Will our mayoral candidates take to wearing sweater vests? How will we pick the candidate with the best foreign policy experience, given that all of them can see America from their houses?
Only the Rossland Telegraph knows for sure…
We invite you to join in the debate by subscribing. The link is on the top right hand side of the home page and, as always, it’s totally free.
See you at the polling station.
