Trail and Warfield Reach Recreation & Library Services Agreement

The City of Trail and the Village of Warfield are pleased to announce they have successfully negotiated and approved a 5-year (60 months) recreation and library services agreement. Warfield will contribute $727,000 over the full term of the agreement for both recreation and library services. The agreement permits Warfield residents to access the City’s library and its services in the same manner as Trail residents, and the City’s recreational facilities and programs at the reduced Trail Resident Program (TRP) fee. The current sixty-six-month agreement between the two municipalities expires on December 31, 2020, with the new agreement taking effect on January 1, 2021.
“We are very pleased to have reached this agreement with Warfield,” said City of Trail Mayor, Lisa Pasin. “It establishes long-term stability and access to all facilities for both Warfield and Trail residents. Building positive relationships with our neighbouring communities continues to be a priority for Trail City Council; and, in this particular case, we wanted to ensure the agreement included clear, fair, and comprehensive language, as this agreement will extend beyond the terms of the current City and Village Councils.”
