The Rossland Public Library invites kids to join the fun and games at the 2016 BC Summer Reading Club. This year’s theme is Book a Trip!  Registration is free and starts at the library on 1 June.

Kids receive a reading record to keep track of their reading. If they read, or are read to, for 20 minutes each day for 49 days, they’ll be awarded a Summer Reading Club medal. Kids can read whatever they want – novels, poetry, non-fiction, graphic novels, newspapers, even audio books – as long as it’s for 20 minutes, it counts!  Of course, kids can always read longer than 20 minutes a day  if they like.

There will be weekly programming, but if kids can’t attend they can still take part. By picking up a reading record and keeping track of the days they read, kids can still earn a medal.

Summer Reading Club reaches more than 155,000 BC kids every summer. The program is sponsored by the British Columbia Library Association, with financial support from Libraries Branch, Ministry of Education and the RBC Foundation.
