Census figures are out: who grew, and by how much?

The 2016 census figures are out, and communities all over Canada can compare their current population figures with the numbers from the 2011 census.  

In terms of percentage of growth, Rossland leads the pack of local municipalities; from a 2011 head-count of 3,556, Rossland has grown by 4.9% to a 2016 population of 3,729. — an increase of  173 people.

Just down the hill, the Village of Warfield  shrank by 20 residents in those five years. 

The City of Trail grew from 7,681 in 2011 to 7,709 in 2016 — 28 people: less than half one percent.
