Hello and thank you for tarking the time to read this. As creator and President of Howse Business Solutions, I’d like to take this opportunity on this blog site to discuss the various aspects of community and what it means to others.
There is a balance to be struck between the social sector, the environment, community development, and yet also able to increase and grow the economy. Creating a healthy community involves looking at all aspects of what makes an area thrive – there is no such thing as unsustainable growth. But what does ‘sustainable growth’ mean?
This blog will hopefully help you understand the various aspects of creating a community and view growth as possible and sustainable. One key aspect when discussing sustainability and community is the concept that we are all interconnected: it is impossible to have a vibrant community without open communitcation between all sectors.
I look forward to having this be interactive and hope that you feel comfortable asking questions about what community means.
I intend to update this blog on a monthly basis, going over various topics such as defining those terms that you may be unfamiliar with (community development, economic development, community economic development), grant writing tips, the importance of communication and collaboration – and any other topic that may lend itself a benefit in creating healthy communities.
