NDCU gives major donation to Black Jack Ski Club
The $20,000 donation to Black Jack from the Nelson and District Credit Union will enable expansion of facilities to improve accessibility and enhance skier experience at the club’s trailhead.
“Nelson & District Credit Union has a long history with the Black Jack Ski Club, supporting many of its expansion and programming efforts over the years,” says Tom Murray, CEO of Nelson & District Credit Union (NDCU). “Black Jack is a major contributor to the Rossland economy and community all winter and in summer too. Their efforts make it easier for all of us to get outside to recreate and explore. Our credit union was pleased to support this important expansion effort.”
“With this support from Nelson & District Credit Union, we can begin on the expansion of the trailhead, adding a new day lodge, build a van-trailer port, and make the area more accessible for everyone,” says Dave Gibson, Board President of the Black Jack Ski Club. “With these improvements, we will enhance the experience of our athletes, coaches, volunteers, and community members.”
Black Jack offers 50 km of expertly groomed X-country ski trails, some of which are lit for night time skiing, along with various facilities at the trailhead and along the trails. To learn more about the Club, visit www.skiblackjack.ca.
