UPDATE: Police arrest unlawfully-at-large Trail man

Trail top cop RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich sent out an email at 1:56 p.m. indicating police have apprehended Frederic Roy.

“We have arrested Mr. Roy thanks to a tip from the public,” he said.

Police are looking for a 31-year-old Trail man who failed to appear to start serving an intermittent, 60-day jail sentence, according to Trail top cop, RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.

“On July 12, 2019, at 7 p.m., Frederic Roy failed to show up for his intermittent sentence at the Trail and Greater District Detachment, in Trail.  Roy is considered to be unlawfully at large and the RCMP are seeking information leading to his whereabouts.”

He said Roy was sentenced for shoplifting at a local drug store.

“Please do not approach Roy and contact the Trail and Greater District Detachment RCMP at 250-364-2566 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) if you should see him or have information on his whereabouts.”
