Trail, Castlegar RCMP seize fentanyl, meth and more in Trail drug raid

Two people will be appearing in court after a drug raid Wednesday saw police seize drugs, cash a weapon, according to Trial RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.

“On Jan. 9 at 3:30 p.m., the Trail and Castlegar RCMP Joint Crime Reduction Unit with assistance from the Trail and Greater District RCMP Detachment executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act simultaneously on two apartments located in the 1800 block of Fifth Avenue, in Trail,” he said.

“Two male and two female suspects were taken into custody by police after the search warrant execution. The police seized 44 grams of Fentanyl, 16 grams of Methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, approximately $6,000 in Canadian currency, and a handheld taser after searching the residences. 

” All four were release from police custody.  One male and one female will make their first appearance in court date for April 4, 2019, at the Rossland Provincial Court House located at 2288 Columbia Avenue, in Rossland.”
