Suspicious fire in Rossland being investigated by RCMP

Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue responded to a brush fire Saturday in Rossland.

Grant Tyson, Operations Captain for the Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue said in a media release crews responded to a late Saturday at the 1200 Block of Dunn Crescent in Rossland.

“A 20 X 20 brush fire was quickly contained by crews late (Saturday) evening,” Tyson explained. “Five hours earlier, this fire would have been a different story.”

Tyson said the fire was suspicious and is being investigated by the RCMP.

In total, 12 firefighters from Rossland, Warfield and Trail responded.
