Parking fine collection box stolen

The City of Trail yellow parking fine collection box located on the corner of Cedar Avenue and Spokane Street in downtown Trail has been vandalized and stolen, according to a press release issued by the City of Trail. 

The collection box, which was emptied the morning of  Oct. 18, was stolen sometime between Oct. 18 and the early morning of Oct. 22. This unlawful activity has been reported to the RCMP and the video surveillance footage from the area is under review. If anyone made a payment in this collection box between Oct. 18 and Oct. 22, please contact the City of Trail’s Corporate Administrator at 250-364-0800.

As a precaution, the remaining two payment receptacles, located on the corner of Farwell Street/Cedar Avenue and Eldorado Street/Bay Avenue, will be temporarily removed. The City apologizes for the inconvenience and asks that all parking tickets be paid in person at City Hall between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by deposit in the secure mail slot at City Hall, or online at trail.ca/ParkingTicket.

The city encourages anyone with information about vandalism and theft, or other criminal activity in our community, to contact the Trail RCMP Detachment at 250-364-2566.
