Visitors to the Rossland Museum will see, and hear, a drilling rig operating on the lower bench area nearby.  Teck has sent a notice to inform the community of the geotechnical drilling program, to take place from June 1 through June 12, 2020, and to assure everyone that there will be no traffic disruption resulting from the drilling operation.

The drilling is part of Teck’s ongoing management of historical mining lands, and will support the next phases of the Museums’ Renewal Project.  The drilling will form part of an assessment, and when that is complete, Teck will determine whether further work is needed.

Rossland Museum staff expect that the facility will open early next week, noting that there will be more cleaning done, more hand-sanitizing stations, and that items commonly handled, such as brochures, have been removed from public access.  Masks are recommended for all indoor spaces, and everyone is requested to adhere to social distancing measures.
