Castlegar/Trail RCMP make fentanyl bust; suspect remanded in custody

Castlegar and Trail CRUs have arrested a 53-year-old Castlegar man after a search warrant was executed Tuesday, according to RCMP A/Sgt. Brett Turner.

“On October 8, 2019, the Joint Castlegar and Trail RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, along with the assistance from the Castlegar General Duty  members, executed a search warrant on the 700 block of 10 Avenue in Castlegar,” Turner said in a release Thursday. “Bradley Morehouse, a 53-year-old resident of Castlegar was arrested on scene.

“Police searched the residence and located what is believed to over 280 fentanyl pills, cocaine and drug packaging paraphernalia along with over $5,900 dollars of currency.

“A bail hearing was conducted with Morehouse and he was held in custody until Oct. 17, 2019, where he will appear via video before a Judge at the Castlegar Provincial Court House.”
