MLA speaks to Remembrance Day
Dear Community Member,
Every November, we wear poppies as a symbol, to remember the sacrifices of those who have died in war. Remembrance Day asks us to take time to pause and honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of veterans.
At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we pause for two minutes of silence. We remember the fallen, and we recognize the loss of the grandparents, parents, spouses and children left behind.
This year on Remembrance Day, our communities are coming together and will stand alongside veterans, merchant mariners, and serving members of the armed forces. Together, we’ll reflect on the terrible cost of war and the enduring commitment of those who serve.
On this solemn day, we remember those who sought and continue to seek a better world for us all.
