KIJHL Scoreboard – Saturday, Nov. 23/24:

Castlegar Rebels (0) vs Beaver Valley Nitehawks (3)

Brady Magarrell netted the winner for the Nitehawks in the first period against the Castlegar Rebels. Connor Stojan earned the shutout with a 31-save performance, while Johnathan Strecheniuk led with two points. Nathan Dominici made his season debut for the Nitehawks and collected an assist. He returned after spending last season in the BCHL with the Trail Smoke Eaters. He previously played two seasons with the Nitehawks, playing in 75 career regular season games and had 68 points. Mason Hillier made 34 saves for the Rebels

Grand Forks Border Bruins (2)  vs Columbia Valley Rockies (3) OT

Ethan Cerone scored twice, including the overtime winner on the power-play, for the Rockies over the Grand Forks Border Bruins. Jaiden Jakubowski made 35 saves while his counterpart Matthew Dovichak made 22 saves. Tyler Burke scored twice for the Border Bruins.

Kimberley Dynamiters (4) vs Fernie Ghostriders (5)

Liam Breakenridge scored twice in the third period to lift the Ghostriders past the Kimberley Dynamiters. Taylor Haggerty also scored twice for the Ghostriders and goalie Nick Kunyk made 25 saves. The Dynamiters were led by Luke Davies with three points and goalie Marc Samyn made 25 saves. The Ghostriders went 3-for-3 on their power-play, while the Dynamiters were 2-for-3. Lucas Desjarlais played in his 100th career KIJHL game with the Ghostriders.

Kamloops Storm (4) vs Golden Rockets (1)

Carson Reagan’s second goal of the season gave the Kamloops Storm a 2-0 first-period lead. His goal proved to be the eventual winner after Deegan Bert scored for the Rockets to cut the lead to 2-1 in the second period. Keenan Holland led the Storm with two points, including the insurance goal (12) and Dawson Holitzki made 31 saves to earn his fifth straight win. Riley Deck stopped 22 shots for the Rockets.

Chase Heat (1) vs Osoyoos Coyotes (2)

Carter Welke opened the scoring for the Heat with his first goal of the season in the first period. That lead lasted until the midway mark of the third period when Russell Weatherhead tied the game for the Coyotes, then Dexter Materi buried the winner with his eighth goal of the season. Hunter Arntsen stopped 29 shots to earn the win, while Meyer Gaume finished with 36 saves.

Revelstoke Grizzlies (5) vs Quesnel River Rush (2)

A three-goal third period blew the game open for the Grizzlies against the River Rush with Colton McLeod potting the winner with his 10th goal of the season. Faris Meddeb led the Grizzlies with three points – all assists, including on the winning goal. Devin Degenstein stopped 19 shots to earn his fourth straight win. Bennett Kuhnlein and Adam Valach scored for the River Rush, while Kyan Gray made 46 saves in the loss.

100 Mile House Wranglers (5) vs Williams Lake Mustangs (4) OT

Matthew Balderston scored the overtime winner for the Wranglers over the Mustangs with his eighth goal. The Wranglers trailed 3-2 after the second period, then tied the game with a pair of goals by Jaden Rusznak. Ethan Davey also had two assists for the Wranglers, who got 39 saves from Jaidyn Shaw. Alex Jessey made 47 saves in the loss, while Asher Lucas and JP Desabrais each had three points for the Mustangs.

Princeton Posse (3) vs Kelowna Chiefs (6)

Owen Miller scored the eventual winner for the Chiefs over the Princeton Posse in the second period to give them a 4-1 lead. Goalie Max Fowle made 37 saves to earn his fifth win. Luke Rishaug collected an assist in his 100th KIJHL regular season game, while Posse captain Tyson Horiachka, who played in his 100th KIJHL regular season game on Friday, collected an assist. Goalie Gibson Horne made 30 saves for the Posse.

Sicamous Eagles (5) vs Merritt Centennials (2)

Austin Horbachewsky was credited with the eventual winning goal as his ninth of the season gave the Eagles a 3-0 lead over the Merritt Centennials. Nick Wright scored the insurance goal with his sixth of the season. Eagles goalie Kael Svenson made 40 saves to earn his fourth straight win. Dylan Kruchten and Maxim Radmanovich scored for the Cents. Mathis Perron made 39 saves.

Nelson Leafs (0) vs Spokane Braves (5)

Tyler Picha earned his first KIJHL shutout with a spectacular 55-save performance for the Braves. Their winner came short-handed by Grayson Picicci with his first KIJHL goal 5:33 into the second period. He added an assist on their 3-0 goal. Ben Humphreys led the Braves with two goals. Dylan Spackman made 42 saves.
