On the recommendation of the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has rescinded the Evacuation Alert for 185 properties in the Village of Silverton, 17 properties in the surrounding area of Electoral Area H, as well as 18 Parcel Identifiers (PIDs). The Village of Silverton and surrounding area were originally on Evacuation Order from July 24 until July 30 due to the Slocan Lake Complex wildfires. Since then, the area had been on Evacuation Alert. See attachments for the list of addresses and maps.

The Slocan Lake Complex includes the Aylwin Creek wildfire, Komonko Creek wildfire, Mulvey Creek wildfire, Nemo Creek wildfire, and Ponderosa wildfire. A complex is created when multiple wildfires are managed by a single Incident Management Team, and resources and equipment are shared between all incidents in the complex.

Updates or changes to the Evacuation Alert or Order will be provided via the RDCK websiteFacebook, and  X  as more information becomes available.
