Chicken leads to car crash, massive fines

A driver in Rossland ate the most expensive bite of chicken in his life, according to Trail top vop RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
“On Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 2:57 p.m., a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on Hwy 3, near the Nancy Green Junction, in Rossland,” he said.
“The officer attended the scene and located the man and his crashed vehicle. The man reported that he was uninjured after the crash,” Wicentowich added. “His vehicle had sustained serious front end damage after colliding with a concrete barricade, and needed to be towed from the scene. The man allegedly told the officer that he was reaching for a piece of fried chicken when he veered into the barrier.”
Wicentowich said the officer discovered the man’s vehicle insurancehad allegedly expired, and the man was issued a $598 fine for No Insurance contrary to Section 24(3) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act.
