CORRECTION: this event runs until 7:30 in the evening, not until 9:30 as originally mis-reported!  So please be sure to go early.  Apologies from the editor with the inaccurate finger.

Mark your calendars for February 4, 2020, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm; it will be time to “Discover Rossland” at the Miners Union Hall.  After the excitement of Winter Carnival, with its parade and Ice Palace and the bobsled races and rail jam and so much more, “Discover Rossland” offers an “in” to what really drives Rossland’s community spirit – the stuff that creates Winter Carnival and so many other fun events and vital parts of this place.

If you’re relatively new in town – you know, if your grandparents, parents, and you were  not all born and raised  here – this event may be a real eye-opener.  And even if you’ve been in Rossland for generations, you may still learn a lot about some of the local organizations and the people who dedicate time to them.  Got preconceptions?  Attend this event – and either confirm them or learn more.

Besides, there will be door prizes!  Not to mention food and beverages hosted by the Rossland Mountain Market Society.

Living in a community is so much richer when we are all part of its fabric.  “Discover Rossland” will be an opportunity to discover how we can enrich, and be enriched by, the varied tapestry of human goodness in Rossland.  And know more of our neighbours so much better, and make this place a real home.

There will be representatives of many local organizations to provide more information about what they do and how they do it, and to welcome potential members.  Here’s a list of groups that have signed on as of time of writing – 32 so far:

     Black Jack Cross-country Ski Club
