A house on Columbia Avenue was raided Friday in connection with the investigation into the murder of 38-year-old Jordan Workman of Castlegar, according to RCMP Staff Sgt. Annie Linteau.

Workman’s body was found in the trunk of a burning car in January (for previous coverage, see https://castlegarsource.com/news/name-burned-body-released-rcmp-46505#.Wuevbn8h21s )

“All I can say at this point in time is that the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the death of Jordan Workman,” Linteau said. “In support of this investigation, the Major Crime Unit, assisted by the Castlegar, Trail and Kootenay Boundary Regional Detachments, executed a search warrant in the 3100 block of Columbia Avenue, Castlegar, B.C., on April 27, 2018.”

At least one person was taken into custody.

The house in question was cordoned off with police tape which, coupled with a strong police presence, led to rampant speculation within the community, however police have not issued any information other than Linteau’s email statement today.
