NPD says online classified ad fraud targeting Nelson residents

There’s another scam making its rounds in the Heritage City Sergeant Corey Hoy of the Nelson Police Department said Monday in a media release.
Hoy said the new fraud targets Nelson area residents utilizing online classified ads.
“Respondents to ads for employment have been receiving fake cheques in the mail,” Hoy explained.
“Once the cheque is obtained, victims of this fraud are requested to electronically forward large sums of money to other people in other cities.”
