Chase Gilbertson scored two tries to lead the L.V. Rogers Bombers to a convincing 43-0 romp over Castlegar’s Stanley Humphries Rockers in the Kootenay High School Boy’s Rugby Championship Wednesday afternoon at the Lakeside Pitch in Nelson.
LVR, the defending Kootenay Champion, now advances to the BC High School Boy’s AA Rugby Championships May 27-30 in Abbotsford.
The game was never in doubt as the host Bombers ran all over the Rockers from the opening kick off.
Eli Wilson, Ryan Lewis, Ray Bisonette and Sam Woodward also scored for LVR.
Kicker Darian Johnson converted several scores.
The Bombers were ready for the Rockers after returning from a successful road trip to Alberta where LVR won the Cougar Classic tournament Saturday in Red Deer, Alta.
In Junior Boy’s action, the Bombers blasted both Stanley Humphries and Selkirk Storm of Kimberley by identical 54-0 scores.
In Girls action, LVR bounced Grand Forks Wolves 20-10 and Stanley Humphries 30-0 before playing to a 5-5 tie against Selkirk Storm.
