Red Mountain Racers ramp up the communication with new online resources
A new facebook page, a blog, and a fresh website: Red Mountain Racers continue to improve the way they communicate with the community in anticipation of a great ski season!
These are just a few highlights of the Red Mountain Racers AGM that was held Sunday at the Conference Centre at Red Mountain Resort. While the racers were taking part in dryland training, several new families stepped up to the Board of Directors bringing new enthusiasm, ideas, and vibrancy to the Red Mountain Racer organization. New board members-at-large include Patrick Kinghorn, Karen Lavender, Vanessa Lunn, David Livingstone, and Paula Gaul. Being groomed into the role of Treasurer is Jane Power.
You can access the Facebook page and become a fan by linking through the new website. Included on the website is a blog by head coach Phil Patterson on the goings on of the club throughout the ski season and the year.
Phil Patterson spoke, with great deal of enthusiasm, of the improved structure of the Nancy Greene Program. Long term and well respected coach, Grant Rutherglen, will be working with all the Nancy Greene coaches to mentor them in achieving noticeable progression for each skill level.
The focus is on benchmarks that skiers can strive for, and coaches need to teach, as the skiers develop over the 10 weeks of instruction. A graduate of the Nancy Greene program should have the skills and confidence to take on any sort of terrain or discipline on snow without hesitation.
Early registration has been extended 29 November. The Nancy Greene program is open to skiers ages 5 and over who are able to get on Red Chair unassisted. For more information call Trish Dyer at 231-6725.
