Going inside the CBT with the annual report, report to residents

All of the secrets of the Columbia Basin Trust have been cracked open for public viewing — financial investments, spending and program and initiative activities — as the 2010/11 Annual Report and 2011 Report to Residents are now published.

The Annual Report reflects CBT’s performance for the 2010/11 year, ending March 31, and details its financial investments, spending and program and initiative activities.

Report to Residents contains a condensed version of the above plus highlights recent CBT-supported projects and initiatives, offering a reader-friendly and informative glimpse at CBT and its role in the Basin.

In 2010/11, CBT returned a record $11.2 million in direct funding benefits to Basin communities, up from $10.9 million in 2009/10. Its Investment Program also continued to experience strong financial performance, with total revenues increasing to $28.4 million in 2010/11, up from $26.1 million in 2009/10.

Highlights of the documents

  • Community Development Program $2,394,000
  • Economic Initiatives $1,160,000 (includes Basin Business Advisors Program,

  • Environmental Initiatives $1,066,000 (includes Environmental Initiatives Program, Environmental Education, Grants and Land Conservation)
  • Social Initiatives $1,058,000 (includes Affordable Housing, Literacy and Non-profit Partnerships)
  • Water Initiatives $839,000
  • Arts, Culture & Heritage Program $505,000
  • Other Delivery of Benefits Expenditures $334,000
  • Youth Initiatives (includes Columbia Basin Youth Grants) $214,000
  • Scholarships $138,000
  • Sponsorship Program $121,000
