Avalanche Awareness Day

AVALANCHE AWARENESS DAY Saturday January 14. Hosted by Rossland & District Search and Rescue at Red Mountain Resort outside base lodge. Free event includes hands-on transceiver, probe, and other clinics, poster competition for kids, and prizes. Registration: 8:45 to 9:15 AM; First clinics begin 9:20 AM. Registration ongoing for later sessions. Wear warm boots, dress for the weather, and bring your own avalanche rescue gear if you have it. (If access to the chair is required, lift tickets must be purchased.)

Salsa dance classes in Rossland start Jan 11th

Salsa Dance Level 1 : You will learn basic steps that can be enjoyed with any salsa song. This is the casino salsa style, easy to pick up and fun to apply on the dance floor. The classes will cover a different dance step each week and by the end of class you will be able to mix and match your dance steps to create a flow of different steps and basic turns/spins. Dates: Wed's 6 weeks only $10 per person for 1.5 hrs Wed Jan 11th , 6:30 - 8 p.m. Cost: $120 per couple
