Aboriginal education has never looked better in Boundary School District 51 (SD51).

With aboriginal student graduation rates at an all time high, a diverse selection of aboriginal education programs in place and more to come, SD51 and the Boundary Aboriginal Education Council is looking ahead to signing a new agreement this coming June.

To assist those interested in applying for Arts, Culture and Heritage Program grants from Columbia Basin Trust (CBT), Krista Patterson and Natasha Smith of the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance (CKCA) will present workshops on how to apply and what to expect from the application process.

CBT’s Arts, Culture and Heritage grants are managed and administered by CKCA.

Individuals of all artistic disciplines as well as arts, culture and heritage organizations residing in the Columbia Basin are invited to attend the workshops.

Nelson Kootenay Lake Tourism and Tourism Rossland will welcome 24 members from the Western Chapter of the North American Snowsports Journalists Association (NASJA) to the Kootenay Rockies this weekend.

In partnership with Tourism British Columbia and Kootenay Rockies Tourism, Whitewater Ski Resort and Red Mountain Resort they will guide the group of 24 journalists into the some of the best ski terrain that the area has to offer as well as explore the unique culture and history in both communities.
