To the editor:

A couple of mornings ago, I was listening to the latest news on the Eurozone (17 independent states, 13 official languages, over 330 million inhabitants…) After hearing of these nations’ immense political effort to finally reach a financial deal to try and bring to a halt the slide into economic chaos, I could not stop thinking about the pettiness of our regional/municipal politics when it comes to, among other things, recreation.

Yes, I am talking about the “pool issue”. To me the above news proves that , in the end, it all comes down to sufficient political will – or lack thereof.

Enough is enough. I suggest we ask our councillors-to-be that they promise to include immediate and substantial political will as part of their platform to try and resolve the recreation issue, and that they be asked to make this an election promise at the candidates forum on Nov. 15th.

Sincerely,

Jorge Rivas,

Rossland
