Having long been a fan of architecture and historic buildings, and made even more curious about our lovely Rattenbury-designed landmark building after seeing the new Shine Salon that is now housed there, I was lucky enough to get a tour of the interior of the whole Bank of Monteal building last week. As an added bonus, Fletcher Quince, the building’s new owner, was kind enough to conduct this tour for me.

As we walked through, Fletcher pointed out many of the cool architectural, historical, and decorative features the edifice boasts, and I was in awe of the amount of craftsmanship that went into the inside of this building apart of the main bank hall, which I was already familiar with.

This is Fletcher’s first ever renovation, and so far, he says it’s gone very well.  He’s using local vendors and resources as much as possible, and is reclaiming as much of the original building material as possible as he moves forward.

Hope you enjoy the tour as much as I did…
