Vancouver Aquarium's AQUAVAN will visit Rossland September 27-- 29

Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre’s mobile education program, AquaVan,  will be visiting the Kootenays from September 13 – October 6, 2016. AquaVan will be delivering fully interactive and immersive educational programming with the goal of inspiring students to make positive changes in aquatic conservation. 

AquaVan programs feature artifacts, activities and live marine invertebrates such as crabs, urchins and sea stars. Youth get an up-close and personal encounter with these fascinating creatures at community and school events. Through engaging and interactive programming, the AquaVan team encourages students to discover of the connection between animals, environments and themselves. On September 25, AquaVan will bring its programming to all ages of the community in Trail, as part of a B.C. Rivers Day event, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

AquaVan will be providing programming in the following communities in the Kootenays:

   Sept 13: Dr. D.A. Perley Elementary, Grand Forks

   Sept 14: J.A. Hutton Elementary, Grand Forks

   Sept 16: Rocky Mountain Elementary, Elkford

   Sept 19-20: Frank J Mitchell Elementary, Sparwood

   Sept 21-22: Isabella Dicken Elementary, Fernie

   Sept 25: Trail Rivers Day Community Event, Trail;  this event is open to the public.

   Sept 27: L’école Sept-sommets, Rossland

   Sept 28-29: Rossland Summit School, Rossland

   Sept 30: Rosemont Elementary, Nelson

   Oct 3:    South Nelson Elementary, Nelson

   Oct 5:    Eileen Madsen Primary, Invermere

   Oct 6:    Lady Grey Elementary, Golden
