A Trail woman is in police custody after a drug raid last month, according to a press release issued by Trail RCMP Acting Sgt. Darryl Orr.

“On Sept. 22, the Trail Crime Reduction Unit with the assistance of Castlegar Crime Reduction Unit and Regional General Investigation Section executed a search warrant granted under the authority of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence in Columbia Heights in Trail,” the release said. “Sixty-year-old Corrine Kohorst has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Contolled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and three counts of Failing to Comply with an Undertaking. Kohorst was already on an Undertaking with regard to a Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking investigation from the same residence in March 2017. Kohorst remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in November 2017.”

Acting Cpl. Jason Zilkie is part of the investigative team, and said, “The drugs have been sent to the lab for testing – there are two different kinds of drugs, and we’re pretty sure what they are, but we’re waiting for results.”

He said there was another individual in the residence at the time, but they don’t think that person was involved and don’t anticipate charges for them.
