The 10th annual event will again see Stikeman Elliott as the presenting sponsor of the event. Stikeman Elliott is proud to sponsor the competition for a second year. “This is an amazing event held at Western Canada’s original ski resort. We wish all competitors the very best of luck in this competition. This sponsorship reflects our firm’s support to community programs and initiatives as well as our commitment and connection to the Rossland community.” stated Ross MacDonald, Managing Partner, Stikeman Elliott.   The Senior and Junior Open will see competitors charging the slopes based on five criteria: Line, Control, Fluidity, Technique and Aggression. Spectators can catch all the action with RED’s highly visible venues. The Junior Open and Senior Open qualifiers will be held on Links Line under the Motherlode Chair. The Senior Open finals will be held on the legendary Mount Roberts visible from a run called the “Ledges” – accessed from Motherlode or Paradise Chairs.   With La Nina currently in full force, snow conditions on both courses promises to be in great shape. Registration for the event can be found at: www.canadianopenfreeskiing.com     Red’s weather station at Paradise Lodge has recorded 157cm of snowfall so far this year. With another storm system moving in mid-week opening day is setting up to be one of the best in recent years.   VIdeo of last year’s Senior Comp. day 3 courtesy DB Films.
