SD 20 sees change in leadership

School District 20, in an email to parents, announced today a new acting superintendent. The email reads as follows:

“School District No. 20 (Kootenay-Columbia) is pleased to announce the appointment of Katherine Shearer, current Director of Instruction – Learning Services, as Acting Superintendent of School District 20 (Kootenay-Columbia). Her appointment was approved on September 3, 2020 at the special meeting of the Board and is effective immediately, in the temporary medical absence of the Superintendent, Bill Ford.

“Leadership transitions present unique obstacles and opportunities and are particularly challenging in the midst of a global pandemic. The Board thanks Katherine for stepping into the Acting role during this especially challenging time. She has our full support, and we look forward to working with her in this new capacity.”
