Police close investigation into fire/explosions in Rossland
by Kyra Hoggan on 06 Jul 2012
Trail RCMP have concluded their investigation into the garage fire that caused several small explosions on a property on Maple Crescent in Rossland on Monday, according to Sgt. Rob Hawton.
“It’s believed the explosions came from several of the small, camping-type propane canisters,” he said. “We don’t know what caused the fire for certain, but we’ve ruled out any criminal involvement.
“That was the main concern,” he said.
He said the resident was at home at the time, but escaped without injury – no one was hurt, but Hawton said there was “extensive damage” to the garage and one side of the home.
