Christina Lake became a little safer after the recent launch Friday of the Fire Rescue fire engine on pontoons.

Christina Lake Fire Rescue’s fireboat is a community effort between Christina Lake Firefighter Society, Regional District of Kootenay Boundary Area C/Christina Lake Director Grace McGregor, Chief Joe Geary and his fire rescue crew.

A special shout out goes to Ross Glanville for his generous donation that covered two thirds of the cost of this beautiful 30K fire rescue boat that will help keep Christina Lake residents and visitors safe for years to come.

The 30-foot long Marine Engine 361 fireboat comes equipped with 115hp Merc, side thrusters, 630gpm pumping capacity, water cannon and two hose attachments.

Everyone involved took to Christina Lake Friday to assist in the ceremonial launch.
