Health made tasty: Kiss-off cancer through cooking next Sunday!

Next Sunday evening Prevent Cancer Now will be hosting a massive potluck at the Prestige Inn in Rossland. If you attend you will be able to--ahem--feast your eyes on the spectacle of local celebrity chefs pitted against one another in gourmet-gladiatorial combat. Plus you get to eat lots of great food.

Says organizer Diana Daghofer, “Chefs will compete against each other, creating scrumptious dishes with foods that prevent cancer.”

And there will be prizes as well. Those who bring food along can win “Consumer Choice” and “Super-Food Hero” prizes, either as Celebrity Chefs or Community Cooks, in a number of categories such as entire meal, appetizer, entrée, or dessert.

The evening is a fundraiser to help Prevent Cancer Now further its work in cancer prevention through healthy living

Cooks are encouraged to use as many cancer-preventive ingredients as they can find. If you think you might be interested in contributing a dish, register by clicking HERE (look for the link “Join Kiss-Off Cancer Cook-Off” in a green box found on the bottom-right of page).

If you’re not in a position to cook, there are other ways you can participate:

• Sponsor your favorite celebrity chef or community cook
• Sponsor a team
• Volunteer as a Community Fundraise
• Enter a dish! Entry fee is $20, or raise over $200 in pledges
• Purchase a ticket – Individual tickets cost $20 or $200 in pledges.
• The family rate is $40 or $300 in pledges (2 adults, 2 children under 15).
• Buy great stuff – Our silent auction will have wonderful gifts donated by Rossland businesses, artists and others.
• Take a moment and participate in this week’s Telegraph poll, which is related to cancer prevention.
