On the advice of the BC Wildfire Service, the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary has rescinded an evacuation alert for 22 addresses near the Toronto Creek Fire, on the east side of the Granby River Valley. The Toronto Creek Fire is now fully contained and guarded, and classified as under control by the BC Wildfire Service.

Those addresses no longer on evacuation alert include all properties from kilometre 12 to kilometre 14 of Granby Road to the junction with Volcanic Creek Road, and four properties accessed from Volcanic Creek Road. The full list of addresses is available on the RDKB website.

Evacuation alerts remain in place for 33 addresses in the in the Santa Rosa and Big Sheep Creek areas due to the Horns Mountain Fire and for 25 addresses in the Lynch Creek area of the Granby River Valley due to the Lynch Creek Fire. Both fires remain active and are not contained.

The RDKB Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) remains activated at Level 1 to support wildfire response in the RDKB. As well, Emergency Social Services, Red Cross and local municipalities are on high alert across the region, and significant advanced planning is underway to ensure access to reception centres and group lodging sites is available if necessary.
