A local blaze may have claimed the life of a Warfield resident today, according to Fire Rescue acting Captain Rick Morris.

Morris said the call came in at 1:52 p.m. and fire crews arrived at 331 Murray Drive at 1:58 p.m.  They were able to knock the fire down, but an elderly male was found deceased at the scene. Morris was unwilling to speculate as to the man’s cause of death.

The cause of the fire itself is also still under investigation.

Four firefighters from Company 2 (Warfield) and 10 firefighters from Company 4 (Trail) attended.
