The wildfire situation is continually evolving, and the information below is current as of 7 p.m. (Pacific time) on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

Fires:

  • Wildfires burning in B.C.: 272
  • Since April 1:

    • 1,187 wildfires
    • 360,835 hectares burnt
  • Active fires by fire centre:

    • Cariboo: 45
    • Coastal: eight
    • Kamloops: 98
    • Northwest: four
    • Prince George: 53
    • Southeast: 64

Crews and equipment:

  • Firefighters and other personnel currently fighting the fires: 3,193 (total, includes out-of-province and aerial support)
  • Out-of-province firefighters: 64
  • Helicopters and planes supporting ground crews: 198                                         

Evacuations:

  • Evacuation orders: 58 (+8) 
  • Evacuation alerts: 78 (-1) 
  • Properties:

    • Number of properties on order: 5,084 (+733) 
    • Number of properties on alert: 17,489 (-202)  
  • Orders and alerts by Emergency Management BC region:

    • Vancouver Island Central Coast: zero
    • Northwest: three orders, 4 (-1) alerts
    • Northeast: four orders, 16 alerts
    • Central: 44 (+10) orders, 48 (+4) alerts
    • Southeast: seven (-2) orders, eight (-4) alerts
    • Southwest: zero orders, two alerts
