Arrests leads to drug seizures; Mountain bikes recovered

An arrest on an outstanding warrant led police to seize a quantity of drugs said Sgt. Jim Fenske Detachment Commander in a media release Monday.

Fenske the drugs were recovered Saturday (May 6th) when officers arrested a man on an outstanding warrant.

“A search of the male resulted in the seizure of four (4) grams of methamphetamine, five (5) grams of marihuana and over $4000 in cash,” Fenske said.

The man was released and will appear at future court date.

On the same day, a routine traffic stop netted Midway RCMP drugs and cash.

The arrest was made when an officer observed a vehicle with a stolen license plate at a business in Rock Creek.

“The member arrested the three occupants and seized 30 grams of cocaine, five (5) grams of methamphetamine, eight (8) grams of marihuana, three (3) grams of heroin and $2690 in cash,” Fenske explained.

“All three individuals were released on a variety of conditions with a future court date.”

Police seek owners of two mountain bikes

On Friday (May 5th) the Grand Forks RCMP recovered two mountain bikes that were likely recently stolen.

  • Mountain Bike #1 is a “Rocky Mountain” brands men’s 21 speed mountain bike.
  • Mountain Bike #2 is a “Supercycle” youth/child’s 21 speed mountain bike.

Anyone thinking they may own one of these bikes should contact the Grand Forks RCMP at 250-442-8288 to claim the property.

The owner must be able to provide a sales receipt or a detailed description to claim either of the bikes.
