WKFOR half way to $20,000 goal

In it’s effort to raise $20,000 to support two refugee families from Burma through their first year in Rossland, the West Kootenay Friends of Refugees (WKFOR) recently hit the half way mark thanks to two big fundraisers.

AMEC’s Mechanical Department donated $1873 that they raised at a quarterly fundraising barbecue.

$1400 was raised in a quilt raffle won by Nemaiah Shaw, who has chosen to donate the quilt to the two refugee families.
