Trail Stingrays kick start their 2011 Summer Season!

This past weekend was the first swim meet of the 2011 summer swim season. The club has been training since the beginning of May and the season ends in August after Provincials. This year's provincials are in Richmond, BC and the Stingrays have a large amount of swimmers aiming to qualify for the Provincial Championships. There were 8 teams in attendance and over 220 swimmers at the meet. The Stingrays missed out on 1st by only a few points! They had 34 swimmers competing at the meet. 1st - Revelstoke Aquaducks 2nd - Trail Stingrays 3rd - Castlegar Aquanauts 4th - Grand Forks Piranhas 5th - Nelson Neptunes 6th - Colville Sharks 7th - Kimberley Seahorses 8th - Creston Wave Aggregates: Division 1 - Dylan Kormendy - Gold Division 2 - Kayla Fraser - Silver Division 3 - Eden Kormendy - Gold Division 3 - Jovan Santiago - Silver Division 4 - Sharman Thomas - Bronze Division 5 - Cassidy Martin - Silver Division 5 - Jennifer Chung - Gold Division 6 - Oleg Liferovich - Bronze Division 7 - Christine Cook - Silver Division 7 - Samme Beatson - Gold The Stingrays had an impressive weekend at the Nelson meet. The club narrowly missed out on 1st place at the meet. The Revelstoke team from the Okanagan brought over 40 swimmers and stole the meet in our own region! The next meet coming up is the Grand Forks "B" meet this weekend on Saturday June 11th. Our own meet is June 18/19th. so feel free to come out and cheer on the best swimmers in the Kootenay Region.
